Diners wishing to celebrate with a romantic meal on Valentine's Day need look no further than Hotel Paradox in downtown Santa Cruz. A specialty menu expertly prepared by Executive Chef Ross McKee is available on Feb 14, 15 and 16. Cost is $60.

Valentine's Day Menu 2014

Appetizers – (choose one)

Arancini ∞ grana padano, fresh mozzarella and roasted tomato aioli

Diver scallop ∞ shimenji mushrooms, and confit fingerlings

Pork belly ∞ pickled shishito peppers, bok choy slaw and daikon sprouts

Grilled polenta ∞ fresh tomato, olive, corn and chive salad

Soup and salad - (choose one)

Potato leek soup ∞ chive oil

Roasted tomato soup ∞ micro basil

Little gem salad ∞ grana padano, white anchovies, egg, croutons and sherry vinaigrette

Paradox salad ∞ watermelon radish, manchego cheese, hazelnuts, citrus vinaigrette

Entrees - (choose one)

Truffle papardelle ∞ house made pasta, black truffle, grana padano and truffle cream

Prime sirloin ∞ black beluga lentils, blue lake beans, pearl onions and veal reduction

Verlasso salmon ∞ asparagus and salsify ribbons, potato puree and saffron buerre blanc

Pork porterhouse ∞ blue lake beans, roasted marble potato and apple onion marmalade
