San Antonio is getting ready for this year’s Fiesta and it all starts tomorrow April 10 and runs until Sunday April 27, 2014. Hotel Havana and Ocho Lounge are located in the heart of downtown and they are joining in the celebration during one of the city’s biggest cultural festivals.

The hotel will decorate its doors with traditional Fiesta wreaths and will have Fiesta medals for sale. Executive Chef Toby Soto has created a special menu to commemorate the occasion.

The Fiesta menu includes:

  • Pork and Golden Raisin Empanadas with Salsa Roja - $8
  • Pollo Verde Stuffed Piquillo Peppers with Mole Negro - $8
  • Albondigas de Res with a Smoked Tomato Broth - $8
  • Martinated Vegetable Skewers on a bed of Yellow Rice -$8
  • Mini Funnel Cakes- $8

Drinks include:

  • Havana Margarita - $5
  • Cuban Breeze - $5
  • Sangria - $5
  • Sol - $5

Two Fiesta events take place close to Hotel Havana and Ocho Lounge. On Saturday and Sunday April 19 and 20 the Fiesta Arts Fair will be held at The Southwest School of Art. The campus is just a short walk from there so guests can enjoy a day of arts and crafts, food and live music. Guest can also get a front row seat for the Texas Cavaliers River Parade on Monday April 21 when the floats line up to start the procession and the parade starts at 7p.m.

Fiesta began in 1891 with a one parade event as a way to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. Now it’s evolved into a celebration of the city’s rich and diverse cultures.
