Hot sauce poured in eyes: 14-year-old boy 'punished'

Hot sauce was poured in a boy's eyes by his mother and one of her female friends. On Feb. 21, the Miami Herald reported that the mother, Robin Willette Rumsey, and her friend, Krista Jean Miller, punished the boy by "forcing him to inhale marijuana and pouring hot sauce in his eyes" while he was restrained with duct tape.

According to the report, Salt Lake City residents Rumsey and Miller have been arrested and the 14-year-old boy is in his father's custody. The alleged abuse reportedly went on for two years before the two women were thrown in jail. According to police, there has been a 6-month investigation surrounding this case.

Having hot sauce poured in one's eyes is undoubtedly very painful. One would think that this type of punishment must have been brought on by something really, really bad. However, the boy was punished for some of the smallest accidents, including breaking a glass dish. There seems to be a lot of holes in the case, however, and police are working diligently to gather evidence and figure out what else the two women may have done to harm the teen.

"This case is full of mysteries. There are a lot of questions coming up that I don't have answers to, mostly because the case is still active. The arrests made two days ago with Krista and Robin are probably just the beginning of other allegations that are going to come to light in this case," said West Valley Police Sgt. Jason Hauer.

Hot sauce poured in eyes is undoubtedly "abuse" and Rumsey and Miller could find themselves behind bars for years to come.
