Hot Doug's announces book publication date

Hot Doug's is about more than a sausage on a bun. The restaurant has become a bit of an institution in Chicago, and as such, it has quite the story to tell. While owner Doug Sohn has been talking about this book for some time -- even collecting stories from patrons -- it wasn't until Jan. 7 that he made a big announcement on Facebook: the book will be published this coming July, and is now available for pre-order.

The book -- an official title is yet to be released -- includes not only the restaurant's history, but also some recipes that put Hot Doug's on the map, among other fun trivia. Notable personalities made contributions to book, such as Anthony Bourdain -- who visited the restaurant on "No Reservations," and Chicago chef and restauranteur Paul Kahan, among others. The Chicago Hot Dog Examiner also shared a story, which will be published in the book as well.
