Hot air balloon explosion: Couple's engagement turns terrifying

See also

A couple in Indiana recently got engaged while riding in a hot air balloon -- romantic right? Everything was going just perfect for Brandi Runyan and Stephen Richardson but then something went terribly wrong. According to a video report by GeoBeats, the hot air balloon collided with power lines, causing an explosion.

After coming into contact with the power lines on the way down, the balloon started going back up, striking the power lines for a second time. The balloon then plummeted to the ground -- but everyone on board was safe -- all seven people walked away from the frightening incident without any serious injuries being reported.

The hot air balloon crash is currently being investigated by the FAA. Brandi Runyan and Stephen Richardson are very happy to be alive and they are even able to joke about the incident... "sparks in a marriage are a good thing," said Stephen.
