HOT 96.3 and American Red Cross holds radiothon

Indianapolis’s favorite Hip Hop and R&B station HOT 96.3 is holding a radiothon with The American Red Cross of Central Indiana on Thursday January 28th 2010 for the people of Haiti. They are asking their listeners and the residents of Indiana to support the emergency relief and healing labors. The radiothon will be from 6 a.m. till 6 p.m. They will have an exclusive 1-800 number available with volunteers waiting for donations to the American Red Cross.
The devastation of the earthquakes on January 12 has affected the island of Haiti to the maximum. The chain of the earthquakes with extents has ranged from 6.5 to 7.3. Thousand of homes have been destroyed and the death toll is also in the thousands. The people of Haiti need everything from food to blankets to clean water to clothing. Many of the families have lost the regular everyday essentials and any size donation will help. The American Red Cross says that $5 will provide a water container to store drinking water. $10 will supply a blanket for a family in the tragic area. If $25 is donated, it will allow a family of five with a kitchen set that includes two cooking pots, a frying pan, bowls, plates, cups, and utensils. A $30 donation will deliver the critical hygiene products for five people. This includes such items as a toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo, body soap, laundry soap, toilet paper, sanitary pads, a razor and a towel. HOT 96.3 and The American Red Cross of Central Indiana will like to stress that any donation amount will be greatly appreciated. Listeners will be told the 1-800 number all throughout the broadcast. Support for the people is very vital and Indianapolis is going to do their part.
