"Hostway Global Web Solutions" is a Chicago based company that recently made San Antonio one of its newest locations. It is a leader in web hosting solutions.
According to the company website, beginning in 1998, Hostway "...has been committed to bringing the power of the internet to our customers across the globe with innovative and easy-to-use products that are supported by unmatched customer service."
Some of their clients include; Sony, McGraw-Hill and Disney.
In January 2011, the expansion move to San Antonio, brought 30 new employees from our area and there are plans to hire an additional 20-30 more employees next year 2012.
So I asked the firm a couple of questions and the VP of Marketing, Aaron Hollobaugh responded:
1."Why did the company select San Antonio?"
"Hostway selected to grow in San Antonio due to the large number of industry experts and leaders in the area. Numerous hosting companies have been successful in building their sales and marketing teams in San Antonio over the past 15 years. Outside of the hosting industry, San Antonio has a hidden pool of technology and sales talent. The talent here has built some of the most recognizable brands in hosting; we hope that they can do the same for us. San Antonio also has a large number of colleges and universities that turn out extremely large number of graduates each year looking for high-tech career opportunities in the area."
2. "What employment opportunities will be available in the Texas locations? (office location in Austin also)
"We are primarily building out our sales and marketing teams in San Antonio at this time. We are looking for highly skilled, trained and often tenured individuals with high-tech or technology service experience. We are also developing our channel sales team in the area as well. Positions will range from entry-level to senior, director level positions. We have hired one vice-president in the San Antonio area and had one relocate to the area over the last couple of months. Our goal is to rely on the existing talent pool in the area, rather than recruiting other employees to the San Antonio area. "
