Hostess plant to reopen its doors - host job fair

The Hostess company will host a job fair this Saturday. The company closed its doors last November and plans to reopen them again this summer. They are said to initially be recruiting for 200 positions in production, sanitation, distribution, maintenance engineering and management this weekend at a job fair in Columbus.

Hostess, which was based in Irving, Texas, was bought by Apollo and Metropoulos for a reported $410 million agreement to purchase the famed maker of Twinkies, Cup Cakes, HoHos and Ding Dongs. The Company is now based in Dallas and Kansas, MO.

The Hostess company had about 420 employees when it closed its doors. They anticipate some of these former employees will reapply for new positions. The new owners of Hostess Brands plan to reopen the company’s Columbus plant this summer and eventually employ more than 300 workers.
