When the bidding starts for the Hostess Brand, a judge will allow other companies who may be interested in purchasing the Hostess Brand to place their bids along with C. Dean Metropoulos and Apollo Global Management.
Hostess Brand needs 400 million, however when the bidding starts it can top this number and the company will be sold to the highest bidder to the tune of 400 plus million.
Hostess wants to reach an agreement as soon as possible, so Twinkie and the rest of the brand can remain relevant and on people minds. Not to mention their taste buds calling for their famous Twinkie.
In November 2012 Hostess Brand announced that Twinkie, and some of their other love brands would be no longer. Hostess did manage to get bidder for a lot of their other brands.
Some of their brands that reached bid deals were Wonder bread, Drakes cakes such as Devil Dogs, Funny Bones and Yodels.
