A Swat team from Savannah and a hostage negotiator from Effingham are on the scene. SavannahNow interviewed the next door neighbor of the parties involved at 205 Whitehall Avenue. The neighbor, Ross Maruca, expressed the following:
Maruca said the man who lives next door, who he believes is the one holding the gun, moved in about a year ago. He says the man has told him that he’s on anti-psychotic medicine and that he doesn’t hold a job.
“He really is nuts,” Maruca said. “They’re probably going to have to shoot him.”
