First-time Emmy Awards host Jimmy Fallon wants Jersey Shore star Snooki to be part of his big day, the comedian confirmed at Wednesday's Emmy kick-off and Red Carpet Rollout.
Jimmy Fallon said on Sunday, before the 2010 Emmy Awards, he wants to have breakfast with the 4'9" reality tv star. “I’ll wake up, maybe throw-up a couple times, not because I'm nervous, it’s a really fast way to lose weight. Then put my Spanx on, just a normal everyday thing. Then I'll have breakfast with Snooki, then come right to the stage...yeah I'll meet her for "breaki" and we'll just talk about what's going on in the news and stuff,” Fallon joked during a during an interview with RadarOnline.com as he prepared for the live awards show.
The Jersey Shore star and her housemates should thank Jimmy Fallon now for the shout-out since the Academy didn't give the reality show any love. MTV's Jersey Shore is not nominated for a Primetime Emmy despite its huge popularity with fans and the ratings blockbuster it has proven to be for MTV. The chairman of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, John Shaffner, said earlier this week the reality show serves a purpose, but it wasn't enough to deserve a nomination. "This is a question that we struggle with likewise. The challenge of popular culture and the excellence that can be perceived in popular culture (is) oftentimes at the time we're seeing it, (we) don't recognize what is excellent about it."
The 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards will air live Sunday, August 29 on NBC beginning at 8pm ET/5pm PST from Los Angeles.
