Fulton County is quietly shutting down two much needed homeless shelters in Metro-Atlanta: Springdale Place, which caters to women and children, and the Jefferson Place Emergency Shelter that serves men.

Fulton County officials cite budget cuts as the reason for these closings, and of course, that which serves the neediest among us gets the ax.

Hosea Feed the Hungry has been on the front line of advocacy, support, and care for the homeless for decades. In response to the closing of these two vital, life-altering facilities, a Press Conference will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. on the steps of the Fulton County Commissioners Office located at 141 Pryor Street NW, Atlanta, GA.

Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless is calling on all of those who are able to come and stand with them tomorrow for justice, and against the inhumane treatment of homeless men, women, and children.
