Horses and dogs rescued from illegal dumping scrap yard in Cleveland

A search warrant executed by the Cleveland Police Department Environmental Crimes Task Force to find illegal tire dumping on the east side of Cleveland on Thursday also revealed two malnourished horses and two dogs reported

The raid on the scrap yard at East 64th and Kinsman Avenue involved the building and housing departments, health department, public works, highway patrol, EPA investigators, and officers from Cleveland's Animal Control. There was no food or water available for the horses.

The dogs were taken to the City of Cleveland Animal Control. The horses were picked up by the Cleveland Mounted Police Unit where they will be cared for and be made available for adoption. To make a donation to the horses' care, please click here.

According to the Cleveland Police blog, the two bull mastiffs rescued have not been evaluated.

Also found at the junkyard was a stolen vehicle, old boats, motor homes, and trash.
