Police, medical and emergency personnel had to rush to the Bretton Woods Ski Resort in New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 28. An accident occurred on one of the Nordic tracks at the ski resort with injuries. According to Twin Mountain Fire and Rescue officials, a large horse-drawn sleigh had overturned.
Chief Jeremy Oleson reported that the sleigh was pulled by one horse and was carrying up to eight passengers. It overturned on one of several Nordic tracks, spilling out the passengers who sustained minor bruising and lacerations.
The Bretton Woods Ski Resort sleighing accident was called in to officials at 2:50 p.m. reports came in that a sleigh carrying passengers had overturned on one of the Nordic tracks.
Oleson said that several minor injuries were treated at the scene of the accident. One individual had previous health issues and was transported to a local hospital. Another injured passenger was also taken for a medical check to a hospital.
No immediate reason for the overturned sleigh was given by police.
The horse was uninjured in the accident.
