In yet another collision between a horse and a vehicle, the horse was seriously injured and died at the scene. The accident happened on Dec. 25, on the B9022 Huntly to Portsoy in Dykside in early afternoon.
In a news release about the collision, the horse was loose and in the roadway. The car involved was a Renault Clio. No other information, including names of the driver or passenger, was released to the public in that release.
The driver of the Renault, a woman, was not injured. Her male passenger was cut out of the car by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. He was then rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by emergency vehicle for treatment of minor injuries.
The Renault vehicle was damaged significantly as a result of the collision.
The road was closed down until the body of the horse and the accident debris could be removed. Officials were quickly able to locate the owner of the horse, and he removed the horse’s remains. Police were then able to reopen the road.
