A therapeutic riding program located in the thumb area is working with the Michigan Horse Welfare Coalition to help find homes for three horses. The previous owner cites financial circumstances as the reason for placing the horses for adoption. The current caretaker says all three horses are sound, trail-safe and walk/trot/canter. Moon is a beautiful Thoroughbred gelding and stands at 16.1 hands. He is dark bay with a crescent moon on his forehead. At 17 he is approaching his golden years and is described as mellow and loves attention. He is sound but became sour during therapeutic riding due to over-use and being pushed too hard.
Grace is a20-year-old off-the-track Thoroughbred mare. A good prospect for 4H, an equestrian team or as a schooling horse, this beginner-safe beauty is ready for her new job. She stands at 16 hands, is mount is flea bitten grey and is registered with the Jockey Club. She has been used as schooling horse and jumps.
Sophie is a 20 year old Tennessee Walker mare. She is black, stands at 14.2 hands and is round barreled. Described as “wonderful and gorgeous,” Sophie doesn’t rack but performs at the walk, trot and canter. She is not trained to jump and is a beginner-safe mount.
