Four hours of work, along with the aid of two doses of tranquilizers, were necessary to remove pounds of filthy, matted fur from a dog who was found in Henry County, Ga.
The horribly neglected dog, who was recently picked up as a stray and taken to the Henry County Animal Shelter, is now free from his long-neglected coat, and as soon as he is able to travel, he will be heading to the Eleventh Hour Rescue in Rockaway, N.J.
The dog, dubbed "Scott," by his rescuers, is now free from the painful pounds of filth-laden fur which bound his body, and he is said to be discovering the joys of toys, as well as the freedom of unencumbered movement.
For the first time in years, Scott has hope for an enjoyable life, versus a miserable, painful existence.
As soon as he is healthy enough to travel, Eleventh Hour Rescue will pay for him to be transported to them, and from there, he will be put up for adoption.
