According to Tuesday's News and Record, a young dog with massive burns was found on Saturday in Greensboro, N.C.

The dog, dubbed "Toby," arrived at the Guilford County Animal Shelter with third-degree burns covering over 50 percent of his body; he is being treated through Susie's Fund.

The young Lhasa Apso was found near in a woman's yard near Tannenbaum Circle and Isaacson Boulevard; the woman delivered the burned dog to the animal shelter for care. Though the injuries to Toby's body are severe, his sweet-nature and personality won over the veterinary staff, who decided to treat him, rather than euthanize him.

Toby's recuperation will take a good deal of time and it will not be easy, but he is doing well so far. His care-providers have noted that, despite his pain, he still eats and wags his tail and he is "happy to receive TLC."
