Horribly abused and injured puppy needs help

Apple Valley, CA:  I was notified by PetConnectUs about the desperate case of an approximately 10-month-old Pit Bull mix puppy who had dragged herself to a cement plant, seeking to save herself.  Now named Valentine, she is being cared for at the Bear Valley Animal Hospital in Apple Valley, CA, where it's believed she will survive her injuries.

When she was found, she had duct tape binding her mouth and she had horrific injuries all over her body, appearing as though her head had been smashed with a rock, one paw broken and another paw being held on by just fragments of skin.  The medical staff caring for little Valentine have stated they believe she was dragged behind a car and then dumped to die.  It appears the dangling paw had been tied with some sort of nylon rope used to drag her.  They also found dirt and rocks in her stomach, a clear indication she had been starved and had eaten whatever she could find to stop the ache of hunger.  (Source.)

Valentine is going to have a very long road to recovery and needs the help of all advocates to make it.  Donations for her medical care can be given via the PayPal account at Sounds of Silent Spirits, which can be accessed here or at the link provided below. You can also contact the animal hospital directly at the following contact information:

If anyone knows who is responsible for injuring this precious girl, they should contact the Apple Valley Sheriff's Dependent with the information at the link provided below.  Certainly someone out there will recognize her and knows who could be so heartless as to do this to a helpless puppy.

Valentine has had surgery to amputate the dangling paw with the hope that she will be able to one day have a prosthetic paw to replace it.  She's had the urgent care she needs to save her life, and is receiving round-the-clock care at the hospital.

The pictures here are horribly graphic, so please view them with caution.  It is beyond comprehension what this innocent puppy must have endured in her short lifetime.  Yet through it all, she has shown only a wagging tail and love for those who are trying to save her life.

She dragged her broken little body seeking help and now advocates must step up and do what they can to see that she heals and has a future that is filled with only love and kindness from here on out.

Keep fighting to survive little Valentine.  Advocates will do whatever is humanly possible to help you heal and find a loving forever home, where you will be cherished as you always should have been.
