For each year of the past 14, Hornblower has dedicated itself to hosting a Pet Day on the Bay. This year it is scheduled to take place Saturday, May 17th. A portion of the proceeds from the day will be set aside for the orphaned pets at Helen Woodward Animal Center (HWAC) who are so grateful for this support!

So, this coming Saturday, San Diego Bay-lovers and canine-fanatics alike will once again unite at Hornblower’s popular, pup-friendly Pet Day on the San Diego Bay. The delightful dog and dock-side adventure promises a tail-wagging good time!

There are three different departure times to choose from: 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. Each cruise will depart from 1800 North Harbor Drive in San Diego and each offers a FREE canine ticket with the purchase of one adult ticket. Ticket prices for adults are $23 each and a portion of the proceeds will be given directly to HWAC. They would also feel very fortunate if every sailor also donated a gently used blanket or towel for the animals at the Center.

This is the only event of its kind in southern California. This time each year, Hornblower invites dogs to cruise for free with their owners. It is a dog’s day out!

Many of Helen Woodward’s adorable adoptables will be portside to wave a paw to both the human and canine guests as they depart from the dock. Once on board, dogs will be treated to a Delectable Doggie Treat Bar, sponsored by Petco, and dog owners can brush up on their pet handling skills with fun Expert Pet Training Tips from Petco’s dog training department.

“We love Hornblower Cruises and their dedication to orphan pets,” said Helen Woodward Animal Center Vice President of Development, Renee Resko. “They have shown such kindness to our Center and our adoptable animals and they give pet-owners an incredibly fun and unique way to connect with their favorite furry family members too.”

Well-behaved dogs of all sizes and breeds are welcome for Hornblower’s Pet Day cruises. (Canines must be kept on a leash throughout the cruise.) Guests can board without dogs, as well, or simply stop by the ticket booth between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to drop off blankets, towels or financial donations for Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Tickets are $23 for adults, $11.50 for children ages 4 to 12 and $21 for seniors and the military. Children three and under are free.
