Anything Blogs: Monday Evangelism: All Systems Go
"But the LORD's plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken." psalm 33:11 News! Get it! Monday is the day to talk Evangelism. One of the phrases that hit me about all the things we have going on at Ministry of Leadership and Communications are two Biblical words: All (our mission map) and Go (our marching orders.
All Systems Go
Are your plans the same as the Lord's plans? When combined the systematic aspect in the words of any NASA mission is: "All Systems Go." That's what the psalmist meant when he combined the idea of hope and God's plan. it may not be "safe" and it may not seem smart- but in the Biblical; Systematic and Evangelical Theology, keep it coming! "All people," in every system and lifestyle- it's an evangelical GO! Psalm 33.11- echo back the praise- "Whatever the Lord plans- it is forever! Stand firm- it can't be shaken." The breakthrough question for the week is "What plans does the Lord have for you?" If you get the concept- and you accept the mission- "All systems Go!"
Editorial Calendar
The editorial calendar of the message, the mission and the music are set in what God's plan is for the editorial and as the editor and the reporter, my editorial calendar is to minister, lead and communicate the biblical, systematic and evangelical everyday by writing on the topics that He has called me to specialize in:
Monday: Evangelism
Tuesday: Special Needs ministry
Wednesday: Media that feeds culture
Thursday: Prayer
Friday: Community Building
Tuesday's Specialized Ministries
On Tuesday morning in Colorado Springs I pastor and lead worship at Mosaic, an agency for people with special needs. Friendship Fellowship is a special church for people with special needs. We meet in Colorado Springs and on Wednesday my friends Bruce Duell and Carrie Schnur meet at Washington Park Chapel. All Systems Go!
Five points ministry
Each strong point has 5 points of their own that has a backbone of truth, hope and plans, a mission of peace, a defining love and a work towards joy. How do you count joy? Read Philippians. Where can you find defining love in Denver? Volunteer for a ministry and read 1 and 2nd Corinthians. In this violent and terrifying world where can you get some peace? Answer the letter from James in the New Testament. Hope can be found at any prayer-point in Denver. Yet while reading Paul's letter to the Romans and the writer who wrote Hebrews there are numerous references to the hope that God planned, is planning and will be planning in the future for us.
There has been no other Roman Catholic Pontiff in recent history (or for that matter Ancient History) who has done more to lead evangelism back to the church. In an era that has been damaging to the church, Benedict handled the sex abuse scandal and has taken the brunt of the responsibility. While it is a sad chapter of denial, escapism, anger, and depression within the church and certainly for the victims, Pope Benedict issued statements, preached homilies and continues to help bring healing in the aftermath of a dark chapter of Catholicism. Leaders often have to observe, examine facts, and then make evaluations and judgements. It is a great burden for any human to take on and the burden obviously has been one that took it's toll on Benedict.
The main thing considered:
Evangelism, compassion, a media that feeds culture, prayer and prayer walking and community building under the banner of Jesus Christ are alive and you can begin again or start here- All Systems GO!
