Hope and Faith! (Hebrews 11:1, Psalm 25:3, 52:9, 1 Corinthians 13:13) (Video)

Most people have hopes and dreams. Sarina-Joi Crowe is a young person from Columbia, TN who has been pursuing her dreams. Ms. Crowe is a contestant on a famous program and is headed to California in the finals. She got her start in church right here in Columbia and has persevered to be a part of the famous TV program a second time. It takes faith to keep going even after what seems like a failure.

The Scripture says this about faith, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”(Hebrews 11:1) It is faith that keeps a believer in Jesus Christ going. Faith is not about what you see, hear, smell, etc., but it is the opposite. 2 Corinthians 5:7 gives confirmation. “For we live by faith, not by sight.”

The faith of a believer must persevere and keep God’s plan in mind. Obstacles, challenges, and detours are a part of keeping your eyes on Jesus. Jesus will give the peace and joy that brings strength. He will give the hope to sustain every believer. Hope is described by Webster, “To desire with expectation of obtainment.” Here are some verses on hope:

“No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.” Psalm 25:3

“For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your name, for your name is good.” Psalm 52:9

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans12:12

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
