Hooray for Clearer Skin with the Brazilian Peel Clear Acne Peel Kit

Teenagers aren’t the only ones suffering from acne. According to a CBS News report, “It’s the most prevalent skin condition in the United States with almost 50 percent of adults suffering from some form of acne.” Yet many adults don’t want to use acne products targeted to teens like Clearasil, Oxy, and Stridex. Now men and women have a new option with the Brazilian Peel Clear Acne Peel Kit by Advanced Home Actives – also the creators of the award-winning Brazilian Peel (non-acne version).

As a teen I combated acne, and decades later this annoying condition continued to pop up (no pun intended) during certain times of the month. I used on-the-spot treatments like the teen products mentioned above to reduce the bumps, but was met with mixed success. I wanted a treatment that was preventative instead of reactive, but as a busy mom I never took the time to research options. When Advanced Home Actives approached me to test the Brazilian Peel Clear Acne Peel Kit, I gladly accepted.

The Brazilian Peel Clear is a two-step acne solution. The first step is to use the weekly acne peel that contains salicylic acid acne medication, 25% glycolic acid and açai berry from the Amazon rainforest. The combination of these three ingredients serves to reduce acne, nourish, and brighten the skin. The second step is to use the daily Acne Control Booster Pads which gently exfoliates skin, deep cleans pores, and controls shine.

The package I received was for a 4 week treatment. The weekly acne peel came in an applicator that contained both a white cream and clear gel. I dispensed the applicator’s contents into the palm of my hand and mixed them. I instantly felt a warm sensation that bordered on hot; however, the clear peel was not too hot when applied to my face. After 10 minutes I washed off the peel.

The daily Acne Control Booster Pads were moist with the treatment solution. After washing my face I used the booster pads; when finished I could visibly see the dirt and makeup left behind on the pads.

Here is what the Brazilian Peel Acne Peel Kit package states along with my observations based on 4 weeks usage.

  • Instantly unclogs pores & helps prevent acne – During the peak of my usual monthly breakouts I did have signs of acne, but they never developed into full pimples. Any initial bumps disappeared after a day.
  • Reduces acne & visibly improves acne scars – I definitely encountered less acne than usual. I had some minor acne scars, but not really enough to notice if they visibly improved.
  • Clinically proven to brighten, smooth & tone skin – My skin did look brighter, smoother, and more toned after using the products for a month.
  • Dermatologist tested to be safe & non-irritating – I have sensitive skin and did not experience any tightness or redness.

Due to the ingredients used, the Brazilian Peel Clear Acne Peel kit appears pricey at $60 for a month’s supply (includes 4 weekly peels and 30 Acne Control Booster Pads). However, I have a friend who visits a dermatologist monthly for her acne, and she spends more than that per month for appointments and treatments. Figuring out how much to spend really depends on the level of acne one suffers from and determining what works. Overall I felt the acne peel kit did its job, and I would use it again.
