Hooligans given the squeeze in South Africa

Argentine fans are known for their passion and exhuberance on the pitch, at the same time they are notorious for using those two attributes to currently have the game in that country in utter chaos.

 

If there has been one positive in South African authorities it has been in the way that they have handled the entry of Argentine hooligans, barrabravas, into the country. In the past two days ten fans have been deported and the others have been placed under intense observation by South African authorities.

The latest news was that the leaders of the top firms from Rosario Central and Independiente were denied entry into the country.  ¨Pillín¨ Bracamonte is currently on the way back to Argentina and is facing charges of parole violation and was accused of attempted murder as well as public endangerment in his native Rosario.

The latter is due to his involvement in the launching of firebombs onto the pitch during Argentina's World Cup qualifying match against Brazil on September 5th.
