Saturday, Sept. 25: 9 a.m. will be the start for 3rd Annual “Hoof It For Haiti” 5-K Run & Walk at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church in Rocky Hill, CT. The fundraiser begins—rain or shine—at 9 a.m. Registration can be completed beforehand or on the morning of the event, starting at 8 a.m. The USATF-certified course is open to people of all ages and to wheelchair participants. Awards will be given to the best performers in various age categories, and refreshments will be provided.


Participants are encouraged to sign up pledges. Sponsors of the event are welcomed.


Pre-registration is $10 per person and $5 for children 10 years old and younger. Registration on the day of the event is $15. Registration for a family of three or more is $25. All registration costs are waived with a minimum of $100 in pledges or a sponsorship of at least $100.

October 10th: HELPING HAITI'S KIDS: Sunday, October 10: beginning at 11:30 a.m., rain or shine, Ride to Help Haiti’s Kids – a motorcycle ride to benefit needy children in Haiti. The ride begins with registration between 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Church at 222 McVeagh Road in Westbrook, CT.


A Blessing of Bikes will take place at 12:30 p.m.,then the motorcyclists begin their tour. There will be plenty of parking, Haitian food, music, and raffles. Stops include one at St. George Church in Guilford. The ride will end at St. Mark. Admission for each rider is $25, and $15 for each passenger. Admission includes: prizes for best and worst poker hand; food after the ride; and other prizes.To pre-register, contact Ken Soudan at 860-575-7247 or at bvpusa@comcast.net
