Celebrate the life or honor the memory of your special pets on the PSPCA Mural

Pennsylvania SPCA Facebook page

On December 3, 2013, the Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA) unveiled a wall mural of animals. Not just any animals - but the cherished pets of more than 40 donors, recreated lovingly and on display for all to see.

The eyes of the pet parents filled with both amazement and tears as they recognized their pets, past and present, immortalized on the beautiful mural. View pictures from the unveiling.

The creative and pro-bono force behind the project, Barbara Harberger of Marguerite Rodgers Design, established the mural to honor the special animals in our lives.

The mural is now heading into its second phase - and you're invited to join!

For a donation of $100.00 per animal, your dog or cat’s likeness will be imagined in a playful way on the mural. Not only that, but a mural key will match your pet to a brief description of why he or she is so special.

It's easy for you to get involved! Just follow these three steps:

  1. Register online and make your donation
  2. Once registered, you will receive an email with instructions on sending a photo and description of your pet

All participants and their pets will be invited by email to join the mural unveiling this summer or early fall.

If you would rather register by mail, send a check with your donation made out to the PSPCA, a photo of your pet(s), a short description (about 3 sentences) of your pets, and your name, address, email, and phone number to: Mural Project, PSPCA, 350 East Erie Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19134.

Email or call Kathy Giles at 267-463-2313 for more information.
