Feb. 25, 2014 a video hit social media by storm and quickly became viral. The Facebook video showed a teen flipping and punching a six month old Pit Bull as the dog yelped and cried out in pain.

Public outcry and vast sharing of the video prompted St. Louis authorities to investigate. Both the teen shown in the video and the other who shot the video have been arrested and are in the custody of juvenile services. Charges of animal abuse are now pending. Police say that social media giant, Facebook, was instrumental in helping to locate the teens and the dog.

The pup, now named Honor, was taken in by St. Louis County Animal Care and Control where she received the proper medical attention and plenty of tender, loving care. Facebook updates indicated that Honor was doing great.

Yesterday, custody of Honor was assumed by the group Even Chance Pit Bull Rescue where she will remain in foster care until a suitable adopter can be found.

Several Facebook pages have popped up asking for donations to help Honor. St. Louis County Animal Care and Control and Even Chance Pit Bull Rescue warn the public that those pages are not legitimate and donations should not be made to any of them.

If you would like to make a donation that does go to directly benefit Honor and her journey to a better life, please go to this link: Donate directly to Honor at Even Chance Pit Bull Rescue.
