With cold and flu season in full swing and a new year upon us, many people are thinking about getting and staying healthy, and Honeywell is making that a little easier with the introduction of new air purifiers featuring True HEPA Allergen Removers to help keep the air around you fresh and clean.

“Air within the home can host a multitude of allergens and airborne particles that many consumers don’t even know are there,” says Dr. Ted Myatt, ScD, a microbiologist and expert in indoor air quality with Environmental Health & Engineering and the University of Rhode Island. “Homeowners concerned about their indoor air should consider dual filtration systems like the Honeywell True HEPA room air cleaner models, which meet standards of efficiency set by the United States Department of Energy. The HEPA filters effectively help capture airborne pollen, such as grass, tree and other pollen, as well as dust, smoke, pet fur/dander, mold spores, bacteria and viruses from the air passing through them. The pre-filter also absorbs odors and volatile organic compounds that result from cleaning supplies, new carpet, paint, and some types of furniture.”

The Honeywell True HEPA models are Energy Star qualified, are available at a number of retailers and fit into most any budget.

The Honeywell True HEPA Tower is ideal for medium or slightly larger rooms, such as living rooms and master bedrooms, and sells for under $200. It offers ultra-quiet operation, as well as an automatic shutoff timer and filter change reminders. The simple touch controls feature four cleaning modes: General Clean, Germs, Allergens and Turbo.

Honeywell True HEPA Consoles are available in three different sizes for medium, large and extra-large rooms and offer the same convenient features – like multiple settings and auto shutoff - of the Tower model.

The Honeywell True HEPA Compact Tower is the ideal air purifier for smaller living spaces like bedrooms and offices. It still offers powerful cleaning technology with adjustable settings, but the smaller, more compact design is affordable at under $100.
