Coming off its most successful campaign to date with 1.3 million meals donated this past holiday season, HoneyBaked is happy to announce the continuation of its partnership with Feeding America, the nation's leading hunger-relief organization. With 49 million Americans living in food insecure households according to the USDA, HoneyBaked is dedicated to combating hunger with Feeding America by committing to provide one million meals this spring.
"As a company whose mission is 'Celebrating life, one meal at a time,' we feel that we have a responsibility to help those struggling with hunger not only during the holiday season, but throughout the year," said Maggie DeCan, COO of HoneyBaked. "That's why we decided to make our partnership with Feeding America more annualized, by committing to donating one million more meals this spring."
From March 31 to May 18, 2014, HoneyBaked stores will accept register donations, 100 percent of which will support Feeding America and its local member food banks. Each dollar that is donated is secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.
"We are thrilled to have the support of HoneyBaked," said Leah Ray, vice president of corporate partnerships at Feeding America. "We receive an outpouring of support around the holidays, but the need continues throughout the year. HoneyBaked's goal to help us provide two million meals over this year will make a difference for Americans struggling with hunger."
