The Honey Shine Mentoring Program is getting ready to hold its 12th Annual “Hat’s Off” luncheon on Tuesday May 6, 2014 at the Tree Top Ballroom at Jungle Island. Once again hundreds of Miami’s most influential, philanthropic, and fashionable ladies and some gentleman, will attend to raise the funds necessary to continue empowering young girls enrolled in the Honey Shine program. This year’s luncheon will take place from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m and attendees are highly encouraged to wear their favorite hats.
This year’s theme is “Architects of Our Future: Imagine. Create. Achieve” and the decor will be reminiscent of Miami’s unique style of chic.
The luncheon will kick off at 10:30 with a champagne reception and a silent auction featuring a variety of designer and vintage handbags, vacation stays, unique experiences, jewelry and much more. After the reception, attendees will enter the ballroom where they will enjoy a delectable lunch followed by the afternoon’s main event; the Honey Bug Showcase. The showcase is a spectacular fashion show where attendees can learn about the young ladies in the program.
Sponsored by Coca Cola, the Honey Bugs will be styled by the Melticuleaux Consulting Group and will strut down the runway in clothes provided by Aventura Mall, Bloomingdales, Gap, Gap Kids, MIA Shoes, and Peace Love World.
“What is so exciting about this year, and every year, is that we get to showcase our Honey Bugs,” said Tracy Wilson Mourning, Founder of the Honey Shine Mentoring Program. “I have been to many luncheons in Miami and our Hats Off Luncheon for Honey Shine truly is all about our Honey Bugs. They are the ‘Architects of Our Future,’ so our theme is ‘Imagine. Create. Achieve.’ This is what we want them to do.”
All proceeds from the “Hats Off” luncheon will go to the Honey Shine Mentoring Program. Tickets to the luncheon are just $150 and a table of 10 is $2000. Jungle Island is located at 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami. RSVP is required to Jessica Geter at RSVP@honeyshine.org or (305) 854-2444. Tickets are limited so act fast.
