Honey Locust is Jake Davis and Patrick Howell accompanied by a rotating team of musicians and collaborators. They blend rich layers of classical instruments with focus on "dynamics, melodies, intricacies and lyricism", all of which make for a large and warm chamber folk sound.
The video by Dylan Carver and Blake Holland takes us right alongside Honey Locust in the studio. They seem to have moved up from their already impressive setup to a new studio, complete with new faces behind instruments and behind the board. While the setup and the sound has expanded, the imagery and music still conjures warmth, home, and an all around cozy feeling... demonstrating that just because Honey Locust is moving up doesn't mean they don't still feel like family.
If the rest of the upcoming album is even half as good as "Honey Pot", then fans of Honey Locust are in for something special.
