Honey Boo Boo's Uncle Poodle: Boyfriend in jail for infecting him with HIV

Honey Boo Boo's Uncle Poodle, Lee Thompson, pressed charges against his boyfriend for infecting him with HIV. Fox News reported on Jan. 16 that the now ex-boyfriend is serving five years in jail for infecting Lee Thompson.

Uncle Poodle did not hide the fact that he was gay. Despite that, he didn't share the fact he was HIV positive. He tested positive for HIV in May of last year.

“I was advised that I should press charges,” Uncle Poodle explained. “Hesitantly, I did. It was the right thing to do.”

According to Uncle Poodle, his boyfriend never mentioned he was HIV positive and stopped taking his medications while they were together. Uncle Poodle claims he would have been “cool with his HIV status” if his boyfriend had only been honest.

“I don't have an issue with the disease,” Uncle Poodle continued. “I would have known how to protect myself.”

Uncle Poodle wants to spread HIV awareness and is willing to use his star status to do that. He wants to have his own television show, describing what it is like to be “gay in the south.”
