The burps are back. On Sunday, Jan. 6, Honey Boo Boo-ites were thrilled to get their scare on with the Thompson clan. Their favorite redneck family had simply been gone too long.
For anyone who thought this show was gross before, it seems as though they may have out done themselves for the Hallloween special. Was anyone else glad that they were done eating for the night?
Nonetheless, the Thompson clan was determined to enjoy the Halloween season….redneck style. As the show begins Pumpkin is already playing pranks.
We also soon see Sugar Bear in a wheelchair, because of his 4-wheeler accident. Due to being out of work for a month, he is getting on June’s nerves.
As you might have guessed, the Thompsons are big on spooking up their home, and filling their yard with tacky décor.
They also love to carve pumpkins, and pick out their own at a redneck pumpkin patch. The girls pick out the biggest pumpkin to June deciding that it fits her body shape. Not surprisingly, the Thompsons turn their farm visit into the ultimate circus.
Mama June later decides that she wants to dye her hair blonde, but doesn’t want to pay a couple hundred dollars. As a result, she has her daughters do the job. After June says she wants to be blonde and beautiful like Alana, Honey Boo Boo reminds her mom, “Mama you’ll never be as beautiful as me. You just keep on trying though.”
After Alana gets hair dye in her mama’s eyes, and the disaster is done, June finds herself transformed as a new blonde. Sugar Bear is surprised by her new hair, and says she looks like a blonde bombshell. Didn’t you just know that he was going to carry on with inappropriate sexual comments and try to seduce her in front of the whole world?
Despite having Sugar Bear’s desperate approval and having confidence that she is ‘beautimous,’ the girls just aren’t thrilled with June’s new hair.
Up next? The carving of the pumpkins they picked out. Just like every other Honey Boo Boo adventure, this was a certain train-wreck before it even began. Uncle Poodle came to join the fun, and of course his time there had to result in some serious drama. The Thompson clan threw pumpkin guts at each other, and made an already messy situation beyond disgusting. The highlight of the pumpkin carving though was when Uncle Poodle put the big pumpkin (June’s) on his head, and got it stuck. Sugar Bear said he deserved it for smearing guts in his face. The family left poor Poodle outside to struggle with his unwanted pumpkin head, and he has no other choice but to get himself out of the mess.
We also learn that June is terrified of mayonnaise. Anyone else surprised by this? Apparently her deep fears trace back to when she was a child and the babysitter always fed her mayonnaise sandwiches. The girls tell her that being terrified of mayo is ridiculous, and decide that she should face her fear. Alana whips up a big bowl of mayo for her Mama who flips out when it is placed in front of her. Mama June says that her anxiety level is out of this world, and that she is about to go into a full panic attack. Clearly the woman is scarred for life, and there is no hope for her when it comes to overcoming her fear of mayo. After June runs out of the room suffering an episode of her post-traumatic stress disorder, Alana begins licking mayo off the spatula saying it tastes like ice cream. Nice! No, no…it’s not.
Later on came the ghost stories, family arguments, corn mazes, zipline, and other activities.
Then it was off to the costume store, where the Thompsons were sure to make another scene as they tried on costumes of all sorts. Anna said that Kaitlyn should be a crab….because of her extra thumb.
Later we see Pumpkin in bed with an injured eye. She can’t go trick or treating with the rest of the family because of an accident with a set of keys. Yes, that’s right. Keys. Sugar Bear threw her a set, and she missed them...well sort of. Her face caught them, especially her eye. Though she is disappointed that she cannot join the rest of the group, Alana assures her that she will go trick-or-treating for her. Pumpkin could probably rest assured that Alana would hold true to her word.
Then it was the reveal of the costumes. Kaitlyn was dressed up as hotdog, while Chubbs and Chickadee were mustard and ketchup to match her. Alana chose to be a vampire. Sugar Bear came out dressed as a….BEAR! Alana goes and grabs him a pack of sugar so that he is officially Sugar Bear.
June came out dressed as Marilyn Monroe. Sugar Bear thought that was just the costume for her now that she has blonde hair. However, the girls just aren’t impressed. June goes with Alana for a last minute costume change, and makes a second appearance to the living room…..this time as a mummy. Alana wrapped her in toilet paper making her have the classiest costume of all!
June said that they would be trick-or-treating in the rich neighborhoods like they always do, because they have the best candy.
The group arrives home after Alana has seemingly taken home most of the candy in the community for her and pumpkin. June claims that she inspects all the candy before the girls eat it, but it appears that her idea of checking the candy is eating it…
If you can handle it…the Thanksgiving episode is next week. Is anyone else afraid to tune in because of the possibility of it making you never want to eat Thanksgiving dinner again?
