The weather in Georgia hasn’t been good on Wednesday. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal declared a state of emergency in Bartow and Gordon counties where a tornado touched down causing heavy damage and people tried to stay safe during the storm. The news headlines had pop culture fans wondering about the Thompson family.

Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and her family from TCL’s popular television show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo are doing alright and let people know they are safe in McIntyre, Georgia. Updating the family’s official Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon, it’s good to hear the storm wasn’t as dangerous as other parts of the state.

There was a tornado touchdown in Adairsville, Georgia where one person died and 17 people were injured. As the storm roared through the state the communities braced for heavy rains, local flooding and tornados and now the folks in North Carolina are bracing for the same conditions as the storm continues moves across the country.
