On Feb. 25 the Detroit Celebrity Examiner became a proud owner of Honey Boo Boo glasses. The oversized pink glitter glasses where the winning prize to TLC’s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” promotional glasses giveaway. It was also announced by CBS on Feb 26. that “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” is now airing in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Asia-Pacific, and Poland. In March the show will begin airing in Italy, Sweden, and Latin America.
Talk show host Ellen had this to say on Twitter:
“Honey Boo Boo is now airing in Europe. They gave us champagne. We give them Go Go Juice.”
Honey Boo Boo fans will follow her anywhere.
On New Years Eve “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” fans braved the freezing temperatures in Times Square hoping to land a pair of promotional pink glitter glasses from TLC. With only 100,000 pairs to give away; many were left empty handed. Fans that couldn't be in Times Square watched Alana on “Anderson Cooper Live.”
Fans that weren’t able to get glasses in Times Square, TLC had a giveaway on the “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” official Facebook page for the show. Fans had to visit the TLC official site to enter the contest where 100 fans would be drawn at random. The contest started on Dec. 31, 2013 and ended on Jan. 4. Winners were notified by Jan. 25.
On the official Honey Boo Boo Facebook fan page “Mama” June Shannon had made the announcement:
"For all those who want a pair of th [sic] HBB glasses & didn't get them. Here's your chance! TLC is giving away 100 pair! Good luck y'all!"
The Detroit Television Examiner was contacted on Jan. 29th. Not sure of the reason, but the glasses didn't arrive until Feb. 25. They were almost forgotten but a welcomed arrival.
