The lifeless body of a Medford woman was discovered in her home Monday night and the hunt is on for a suspect after investigators believe she was the victim of a homicide, according to a Suffolk County police news release.

It was shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 when 47-year-old Eric Connelly returned to his home on Norway Pine Drive in Medford to make a gruesome discovery; his wife had been murdered, police said.

The victim, Bonnie Farrell, 45, was found dead in the bedroom of their home. Homicide detectives believe she suffered a head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials at the Suffolk County medical examiner’s office are expected to perform an autopsy in the coming days.

In the meanwhile, detectives are looking to speak with anyone who may have information about the case. Investigators can be reached at 631-852-6392 and anonymous tips are accepted through the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-220-TIPS.
