Homicide in Groveland, suspect from Stockton

One person is under arrest by Stockton Police, and another is being sought for questioning. Friday January 3, 2013 Stockton Police were alerted to a possible homicide at 4500 Mist Trail Dr. in Stockton, the residents however had moved from the home.

Information found at the scene on Mist Trail led Stockton Police to investigate a home in Groveland, Ca. in Tuolumne County. Tuolumne County Sheriff Deputies were called to assist in the investigation where Bryan Cook, a 38 year-old suspect was found and arrested.

The address and the name of the victim have not yet been released, however, there is only one "Assist Other Agency" log entry at the Tuolumne County Sheriff Dept website, (bulletin tab) and that call was initiated in the area of Bairds Rd/Bridal Veil Rd in Groveland.

MML reports there is also one person who is being sought for questioning and that would be 49 year-old Valentina Taz. Ms. Taz is not a suspect at this time.

"The deputies located the suspect and also a body. At this time we don't have the body identified, but I can say that it is an adult male and right now the cause of death is unknown." stated Stockton Police Public Information Officer Joe Silva
