Homicidal Hamas

Listening to Alan Dershowitz this morning on CNN, the retired Harvard Law Professor described the act by Hamas of intentionally digging tunnels and storing weapons under schools, hospitals, and other public buildings. Hamas terrorists would launch missiles from these locations with the knowledge that Israel would wipe them out along with innocent people in them. Dershowitz described this as a double prong commission of murder, first from the missile attacks and second from purposely putting innocent civilians at risk.

So, what kind of “leaders” are Hamas? Observe also that Hamas leaders fought their battle from hotels in Qatar and not by being on the front line with the people that they represent. It is most evident that Hamas is a terrorist organization that is surreptitiously using “government” to disguise their kind.

The U.S. and free world allies should not legitimize Hamas as Jimmy Carter suggested. It should be prosecuting Hamas as a terrorist organization that has seized Gaza just as ISIS has seized Iraq. It should be stopped and eliminated.

Israel has resumed its war against Hamas, yet the end state goal of Israel is to demilitarize Gaza and Hamas. Only when that is accomplished can Israel consider opening Gaza to free trade. In fact, to calibrate that, access to Gaza by the sea or any means is likely to be highly regulated for the foreseeable future until and unless conditions in Gaza are restored to peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.

Diplomats from the U.S. and other nations persist in talking about a two-state solution, meaning to establish a state of Palestine adjacent and maybe commingled in parts with the nation of Israel. While that is the prevailing view, it is this analysts opinion that now Gaza needs to be segregated politically from the West Bank as it is already physically separate. Linking the two enclaves serves no purpose, however that is worth debating.

“Alan Dershowitz: Media ‘Racist’ In Coverage Of Israel-Hamas Conflict

Retired Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz says the media have been racist in their coverage of the Israeli-Hamas coverage.

During an interview on the Hugh Hewitt radio show, Dershowitz said the media have totally ignored the far greater casualties that have occurred in Muslim-on-Muslim violence in the Arab world.
“Seven hundred people were killed in two days last week — there wasn’t a word about it in the media,” Dershowitz told this writer, who has been guest hosting Hugh Hewitt’s radio show all this week. “But a few dozen Palestinians were killed and the body count was prominent.”

“And I think it is racism — implicit racism on the part of the media,” he continued. “And that is, when an Arab and Muslim kills another Arab and Muslim, it is not news. But when an Israeli Jew in self defense kills an Arab Muslim, that becomes front-page news.”
