Recent storms in the Lake Tahoe region dropped a total of 27 inches of fresh snow on Homewood ski resort, located on Lake Tahoe’s west shore off Highway 89.
The snow storm augmented the base layer created by Homewood ski resort’s snowmaking crew over the past seven days.
Homewood ski resort has added a little twist to its opening day this Wednesday, Dec. 11 – Opening day lift tickets are free!
Homewood had been scheduled to open on Friday, Dec. 13. It will be the ninth Lake Tahoe ski resort to open for the 2013-14 season.
“With over two feet of fresh snow on the ground from recent storms, everybody at Homewood has been eager to open up the resort to the public and welcome the Homewood family back for another great season of skiing and snowboarding,” said Homewood Marketing Director Paul Raymore. “And what better way to kick off the season than with a day of free skiing and riding for all!”
Available terrain at Homewood
Homewood ski resort will open on Wednesday with the Happy Platter surface lift, Magic Carpet beginner runs, and Happy Park terrain park all available from the resort’s North Lodge.
In addition to skiing and snowboarding, skiers and snowboarders will be able to enjoy a selection of hot lunch items at the Homewood ski resort’s North Lodge Café Grill. The grill is a full retail store with gift ideas for skiers and riders, and both child and adult ski and snowboard lessons and rentals.
How to get Free lift ticket
To get a free lift ticket, skiers and riders simply need to check in at any Homewood ski resort ticket window on Wednesday.
Homewood is accessible via Interstate 80 to Highway 89, just 55 miles from Reno Tahoe International Airport.
Reduced lift tickets rest of the week
After Wednesday, Homewood will offer early-season lift ticket pricing of $29 for Sunday through Friday, and $39 on Saturdays, until the resort is able to open additional terrain to the public.
