The last weekend of January promises a full schedule of events for homeschool parents and the kids. Time for great encouragement, new ideas and meeting some new friends .
Annually, Arizona Families for Home Education hosts a "mini conference" with a well-known homeschool speaker to help parents get re-energized after Christmas break.
The theme is "God Fills in the Gaps", presented by homeschooler Linda Crosby. Attendees will relax and socialize before hearing the inspiring words of Mrs. Crosby. Location: Mesa, Arizona.
AFHE also sponsors an all day leadership conference in Mesa.
"The Price is Right" features Linda Crosby as the main speaker. Designed for homeschool leaders and support group leadership teams, the day is packed with resources, legislative, lots of humor, great food and upcoming event details.
Are you wanting to attend this event, but need a place for the kids? Take them to the Rubik's Tournament.
- Jan 28: Arizona You Can Do the Cube (Rubik’s Tournament) (Free event)
Grades K-12 compete in teams to collectively complete 25 Rubik's Cubes. The official tournament will be February 25, sponsored by Arizona State University as part of the Arizona Sci-Tech Festival.
If you still have energy at the end of the day, head to The Arizona Science Center Science Teacher Night. (That includes homeschool parents who do science with their kids.)
- Jan 28: Science Teacher Night at Arizona Science Center (Free event)
For adults only, you can network with other science-minded people, learn about the resources at the Science Center, and receive a free teacher membership to the center.
Get up early on Saturday to take advantage of these great events for the homeschooling family.
