While a lot of people think that homeschooling means staying home, this is a misconception. There are actually a lot of different things that homeschooled children in Pittsburgh can do. 2. Learning about insects and surviving in nature at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.
3. Educational movies in the Omnimax can be seen at the Carnegie Science Center.
4. Wildlife and habitat classes at the Pittsburgh Zoo.
5. Book clubs and writing classes at your local library.
6. Environmental education classes at nature centers.
As you can clearly see, there really are a lot of great ways in which Pittsburgh area homeschoolers can get out and learn about different things in their community. So, just because a child is homeschooled doesn't mean that he has to be in the house all of the time.
