Homemade Valentines Day Craft for kids- Message in a Bottle

MYO message in a bottle like the one seen here from OneLoveInc.com  for $9.95

A great way to say I love you this Valentines Day is to send a message in a bottle.  A message in a bottle can be very sweet and romantic, and considering many of you are wine-o's already, it is a great way to recycle.

Send a romantic note to your special someone with this message in a bottle Valentines Day love letter that has been modified from a similar one on Martha Stewart.com.

Needed
Scissors
Clean and empty wine bottle
Wine bottle label template via Martha Stewart
Printer paper
Glue stick
Colored sharpie
Decorative adhesive ribbon
Sand from the beach (if you live near a beach, optionally, you can use bath confetti)

Message in a Bottle How-To
1. Remove all original labeling from the wine bottle by running bottle under very hot water and scrubbing label and adhesive off.  Dry/let dry completely.

2. Print the wine bottle label template on  printer paper, cut out label, and spill a little coffee on it to give it a antique look.

3. Adhere the label to the bottle using the glue stick.

4. Write a personal message or poem on another piece of paper, roll paper tightly enough to fit through the mouth of the bottle, and tie tightly with a ribbon.

6. Add sand or bath confetti soap to the bottle (optional) and insert rolled note. Cork bottle.

Box in a long box that will hold a bottle with a few seashells.
