Homemade Teriyaki sauce is easy and economical

It’s a cinch to make your own teriyaki sauce! Although a variety of pre-made marinades and sauces are available in local supermarkets, many contain undesirable ingredients like corn syrup and MSG. This recipe is delicious and budget-friendly.

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine:

½ C. soy sauce

¾ C. honey

½ tsp. ground ginger (spice section)

1 clove minced garlic

½ tsp. red pepper flakes

Warm the mixture just until it begins to simmer; then remove from the heat. Use it to marinate chicken or as a sauce for stir fry. You can also store your teriyaki sauce in the fridge.
