Update 4/9/14: Cody is safe! Pulled by NYC Second Chance Rescue.

A 10-year-old German shepherd mix is in desperate need of rescue from the New York Animal Care and Control in Brooklyn.

The dog, named "Cody," was brought to the facility by a homeless man who indicated that his friend had left the dog behind.

Cody's rear legs are weak and he has atrophied muscles...rather than sitting in a stark kennel run, he should be enjoying the comfort of a soft bed, inside of a home.

Time is not on Cody's side - he is currently listed in the "Super Urgent" photo album on the Facebook page, Urgent Part 2 - Urgent Death Row Dogs.
