UPDATE: The following is the update on Darryl, per Mary Raquepo.
Darryl is at the Vet hospital right now being treated. He is 16 years old and his health is in decline. The good news is that when he's released he will be with a foster mom who plans to take care of him until it's time to let him go. So he will live out the rest of his life in a loving home.
Los Angeles, Calif. - A 10-pound, male, stray cat - described as having the "saddest face at the shelter" - is looking for a home to rest his weary head. Named Darryl, he was found in Azusa on January 13. He was taken to the Baldwin Park Animal Care and Control where he sits and waits.
His drooping face and disheveled appearance is telling of a life that hasn't been too kind to this senior before arriving at the shelter. This is not a "Grumpy Cat"-type situation. This boy is not a celebrity in his own right. He has no adoring fans. There is nothing to indicate he has ever lived a life of luxury and pampering. No. Darryl's life was likely anything, but that.
Despite his past, he is described as "very docile and would be incredibly content and appreciative to be curled up in someone’s lap and we would love to see him get into a home that he richly deserves. Darryl will be a heartwarming companion for anyone in any living situation."
