Atlanta hip-hop duo Outkast will play a hometown show this fall. Big Boi and Andre 3000 will perform at Centennial Olympic Park in downtown on September 27. Tickets are on sale to the general public on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at 10am.

Antwon "Big Boi" Patton and Andre "3000" Benjamin are hosting a one day music festival called "Outkast:ATLast". The festival will also include music by special guests. The duo discussed playing in their hometown on their website The duo performed at the Counterpoint Music Festival in Rome, Ga in April. They didn't consider that performance a hometown show and wanted to bring their music back to Atlanta. Big Boi said “It's only right that we give the hometown what we've been giving the rest of the world, Atliens in Atlanta, homecoming! Festival Killers!" Andre 3000 added "Coming from Atlanta gave us the freedom to be whatever we ever wanted to be because no one was paying attention. Now that everyone is, we want to say thank you."

Both Big Boi and Andre 3000 did side projects outside of Outkast. Big Boi created and performed music for several movies including Hitch and 8 Mile. He also made an appearance on the roundtable on Chelsea Lately. Andre 3000 created a show for Cartoon Network called Class of 3000 and was cast as Jimi Hendrix in Jimi: All Is by My Side.

Outkast formed in 1992 in the Atlanta suburb of East Point, Ga. The duo were both students at Tri Cities High School and met at Lenox mall in Buckhead. The duo were signed to La Face records in 1992. They set the Atlanta music scene on fire in 1994 with their first CD called Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. The duo won six Grammy awards to date.
