I've always been drawn to home remedies, even long before I started becoming concerned with saving money. As the years have passed, I've had four children, gotten older, and realized that saving money isn't anything to be ashamed of. Actually, it's a very intelligent way to live! I coupon, look for sales, clearance, check out freebies and of course, search for home remedies for many illnesses and home situations.
My most recent home remedy find is a cure for carpenter ants! Yes, I discovered that we had carpenter ants in one of the bedrooms. They weren't a threat to us as far as I could tell, they didn't attack anyone, or cause us harm but they were certainly a nuisance and made a mess on and around the window sill. I also read that they were a threat to your home structure over time, which did greatly concern me. After searching online for different solutions, I finally decided to try corn meal. The instructions were to sprinkle corn meal around the area where the ants are frequenting. The ants will then eat the corn meal, and carry it back to their nest, and the queen will also eat the corn meal. The key is that the ants cannot digest the corn meal, therefore they will die, as will the rest of the colony, including the queen.
I did try this a week ago, and my carpenter ants are gone. I didn't really know what to expect, but I must say that I am truly impressed! It actually worked! I do, however, make sure to re-check once in a while, to make sure that the ants have not returned
There are so many home remedies available online, in addition to various ways to save money and time. I personally plan to continue my quest in frugal living!
