Let's face it. Shopping is one of America's favorite pastimes and, for many, an Olympic sport. We thrive on the high when we score a perfect ten or find the deal of a lifetime. Problems arise when we just keep scoring and cannot quite bring ourselves to say enough.
Clutter is not an uninvited guest in a home. We buy it or willingly accept it with open arms if given with the best of intentions.
So what is a girl to do? First, understand your behavior. For instance, if your passion is shoes, then you will always find yourself in the shoe department no matter how short you are on time. It is just one of the unspoken laws of nature.
In order to resist the temptation, know what you have in your closet. Think about all of the forgotten finds in there that are still waiting for their big debut. The thrill was exactly the same when you first stumbled upon those irresistible treasures. Not surprisingly, it passed.
Keep a realistic balance between your lifestyle and your needs. Above all, remind yourself that there will always be another must-have deal just around the corner. Shopping may be in our blood but it does not have to drain the life out of our wallet or our peace of mind.
