This year there are thousands of homeless pets in shelters in metro Atlanta who all have the same Christmas wish - a forever home for the holidays. They are dreaming of waking up on Christmas morning in a home where they are loved and cherished and are a member of the family. Between now and December 31, I will be featuring pets from local shelters and rescue groups who want nothing more than their very own human and a warm place to sleep at night.
Today’s featured pet is Lucy Lobo from Furkids/Small Dog Rescue. Lucy is a one-year old female dachshund and terrier mix and weighs 17 pounds. Here is her letter to Santa that she posted earlier this week on the Furkids’ Facebook page:
Dear Santa, My name is Lucy Lobo. I was lost once, but now I found my family with Furkids and Small Dog Rescue. They have taken wonderful care of me, but I feel like something is missing in my heart. Can you help me find a forever family for Christmas? I just want a family that will love and accept me for who I am, like my foster family does. They say I am blind and cannot see, but since I was born this way I really don't understand what that means. I am fearless and friendly and could adapt to any home! Please help me Santa. I have been a very good girl! Love, Lucy Lobo
