Several months ago The Home Depot fired Trevor Keezor for refusing to take off a "One Nation Under God" button from his work apron. Yet today the same company allows employees to decorate their aprons to promote homosexual events.
Trevor's action was quiet and understated compared to the wide-spread wearing of buttons and blatant apron banners.(See attached photo.)
In response, Tim Wildmon, President of The American Family Association (AMF) has organized a boycott of Home Depot locations. This morning email letters have reached computers all over the nation calling for action. Orange County Catholics included.
Home Depot employee Keezor claims he wore the button in support of his country and his brother, currently serving in Iraq. He had been wearing the button for months, but things reached a head when a supervisor found him reading his bible in the break room. Evidently Trevor had gone too far. He was directed to remove his "One Nation Under God" button and given the option to replace it with a Home Depot approved "United We Stand" one. Trevor refused because the line didn't include the word "God."
A Home Depot spokesman said Keezer was fired because he violated the company's dress code.
In contrast, other Home Depot employees were allowed, and still are allowed, to decorate their aprons to promote gay parades and film festivals. (Many gay events are actually sponsored by The Home Depot.)
According to the American Family Association, "The Home Depot defended them by saying homosexual employees will not be prohibited 'in any way' when it comes to what they do and wear. The picture here shows employees who decorated their aprons for a Lesbian and Gay Film Festival in Seattle, Washington."
Keezer's lawyer, Kara Skorupa, is planning to sue the Atlanta-based company."There are federal and state laws that protect against religious discrimination," Skorupa said. "It's not like he was out in the aisles preaching to people." Skorupa noted the slogan on Keezer's pin came right from the Pledge of Allegiance.
The American Family Association, in concert with other groups, doesn't think it's fair for The Home Deport to advance a company's political agenda at the expense of a religious one.

It's ironic. The Home Deport has no qualms about accepting dollar bills that bear the same line they won't allow their employees to wear.

We will not be shopping Home Depot until they reverse their anti-Christian, pro-homosexual lobbying efforts.
Christian buttons to wear in protest of Home Depot:

I will never shop there regardless of their action in response to this complaint. They threw God out the door and brought in disease. Perfect.
This is an old article but still needs to be ad-hear to. When are they going to realize that Christians still out number any liberal agenda they may have. We can no longer be seen as standing still for ignorance that allows such discrimination against the most popular religion in the U.S.
I will forever shop there now knowing that they support diversity and inclusion. You morons on here who claim your gonna boycott are just ignorant.
Inclusive of everyone except people of the Christian and Jewish faiths. You statement is illogical. Now who is the ignorant moron?
One word, Moderation. Everything is good in moderation. Diversity is good, too much diversity equals multiiple societies in a nation instead of one society. Do the math and think about what happens when you have multiple belief systems and socities living under one government in a nation. It correlates to a weakened nation since the nation isnt really "United". And your opinion on that is ignorance? its the ill thoughted people like yourself who are not doing this country one bit of good and why its going the way it is, because you don't think about the whole or the country, just yourself. Just do many of us a favor and express your diversity in Canada.
The issue is not whether The Home Depot sponsors guy events. It's that it disallows wearing of a button the promotes "one nation under God." News about the employee firing maybe old, invitation to join the AMF boycott is new.
the associates in the photo above have been asked to not wear those aprons as home depot has a dress code which these aprons violate. if they were anti-christian then they would have the associates work on christmas. they try to involve all people. Christ never taught hate.

Those aprons were never worn on the sales floor anyway. The fundies need to tell the truth or does that violate there beliefs too! They were only wore at the function they were at... Grow up people the guy in Florida was given the opportunity to wear the button on his own shirt at work just not the apron anymore than the associates above were allowed to wear those film festival aprons on the sales floor
I feel sorry for people who Judge others; we only have one Judge and that of course is "GOD". I am not gay but I do not have an opinion one way or another. However I do know as a Christian that when I do enter "The Pearly Gates" I only have to answer for myself and not others. I believe in "God We Trust" on our currency and in the Pledge of Alegance. Each of us is an individual with our own thoughts and beliefs. How will we ever reach "Peace" in this country or any other country if we do not except each other as individuals with different ethics or beliefs or believing in ourselves as individuals as God made us.
I will continue to shop Home Depot for only the products they carry and it is cheper in gas mileage to get to them; they are closer to my home; however if I am on the road and Lowes is closer I will go there also; I like both stores and do not juge who works there; at least they have a job and making an honest living. So leave the judging to God and bring "Peace on Earth".
